Memory disclosure via unchecked ABF channel index
Published Mar 3, 2026 · Updated Mar 3, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in libbiosig 3.9.2 and Master Branch (5462afb0) allows attackers to disclose memory through a crafted ABF file. In sopen_abf_read, an attacker-controlled nADCSamplingSeq value becomes an unchecked index into the 16-entry sADCChannelName array before strncpy copies a channel label. Exploitation requires a crafted original-format ABF file to be opened or otherwise parsed; the read can disclose adjacent memory or crash the consuming process.
