Remote code execution via writable workspace settings

Improper access control in Microsoft Visual Studio Code before 1.106.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through GitHub Copilot. The Copilot agent can rewrite a multi-root .code-workspace file, redirect a folder to a writable executable, set php.validate.executablePath to that file, and create a PHP file that causes the editor to run it. Exploitation requires user interaction and attacker-controlled context that Copilot processes, and successful execution grants the code the editor user's privileges.
