CVE-2025-64525Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated route bypass via forwarded-header URL injection

Published Nov 13, 2025 · Updated Nov 13, 2025

URL manipulation in Astro 2.16.0 through 5.15.4 allows remote attackers to bypass path-based middleware via forwarded headers. The createRequest function inserts unsanitized x-forwarded-proto and x-forwarded-port values into a new URL, letting crafted schemes rewrite its host, port, and path. On-demand rendering is required; consequences include protected-route and WAF bypass and application-dependent SSRF, while CDN deployments also expose cache poisoning and service interruption.
