Heap buffer over-read in png_do_quantize in PNG Development Group libpng before 1.6.51 allows attackers to leak heap data or crash applications. png_set_quantize sizes quantize_index from the file-controlled palette count, while png_do_quantize trusts pixel bytes as indices and reads beyond that allocation. Exploitation requires a user to process a crafted PNG; the resulting read can disclose adjacent heap memory or crash the consuming application.
