Cross-site scripting via unescaped HTML attributes
Published Nov 10, 2025 · Updated Nov 10, 2025
Cross-site scripting in Etamin Studio prosemirror_to_html before 0.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in viewers' browsers. The render_opening_tag method inserts each ProseMirror tag attribute value into quoted HTML without escaping it, turning crafted links or event handlers into executable markup. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled ProseMirror JSON and a user who views the generated HTML; the resulting JavaScript runs in that viewer's browser.
