CVE-2025-64484Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via unnormalized forwarded headers

Published Nov 10, 2025 · Updated Nov 10, 2025

Header smuggling in OAuth2 Proxy before 7.13.0 allows remote authenticated users to escalate upstream privileges via crafted headers. The header-stripping middleware matches canonical X-Forwarded-* names but fails to delete underscore variants before forwarding the request. Exploitation requires an authenticated user and an upstream application that treats underscores as dashes; OAuth2 Proxy authentication remains intact.
