Code execution via crafted VI out-of-bounds read
Published Dec 18, 2025 · Updated Dec 18, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in NI LabVIEW 25.3 and earlier allows attackers to disclose data or execute code through a crafted VI file. lvre!VisaWriteFromFile() reads past a buffer boundary while parsing corrupted VI content; NI has not disclosed the faulty bounds calculation. Execution requires a local user to open the file, after which the process can expose memory or run attacker-controlled code in that user's context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <=22.3.6
- Affected versionversion=23.1.0 <=23.3.7
- Affected versionversion=24.1.0 <=24.3.4
