CVE-2025-6445Network attack vector

Remote code execution via unvalidated type path

Published Jun 25, 2025 · Updated Jun 25, 2025

Path traversal in ServiceStack 8.4.0 allows remote attackers to execute code through JSON or JSV deserialization of a crafted type name. ServiceStack.NetFxPclExport.FindType accepts a filesystem path in the __type value and loads the referenced local DLL or EXE instead of restricting resolution to valid runtime type names. Remote exploitation requires the application to deserialize attacker-controlled data and a malicious DLL or EXE to be placed on its filesystem through another flaw or upload feature.
