CVE-2025-64342Network attack vector

Advertising interruption via invalid access address handling

Published Nov 17, 2025 · Updated Nov 17, 2025

Improper condition handling in Espressif ESP-IDF allows remote attackers to interrupt ESP32 Bluetooth LE advertising. The ESP32 Bluetooth controller fails to reject reserved all-zero or all-one Access Addresses before stopping advertising and reporting a connection event, then drops the address without reporting an error or disconnection. An unauthenticated attacker within Bluetooth range must transmit a noncompliant request; the application can remain stuck in a false connected state while the device is no longer advertising.
