Insecure permissions in Open OnDemand 3.1.15 and earlier and 4.0.7 and earlier allow remote attackers to alter packaged gems. Open OnDemand packaging leaves /opt/ood/ondemand/root/usr/share/gems or /opt/ood/gems world writable in GEM_PATH instead of restricting writes to root. The advisory does not identify a request path to these host directories, so the bounded consequence is unauthorized modification of package-managed gem content.
