Access-control bypass in Anysphere Cursor before 2.0 allows context-dependent attackers to read cursorignore-protected files. The agent can create a new cursorignore file, and Cursor lets that file invalidate pre-existing ignore rules before protected-file access is evaluated. Exploitation requires prompt injection or a malicious model; exfiltration further requires non-default auto-run settings or social engineering.
