CVE-2025-64109Network attack vector

Remote code execution via automatic MCP server launch

Published Nov 4, 2025 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

OS command injection in Anysphere Cursor CLI Beta before 2025.09.17-25b418f allows remote attackers to execute code from a malicious repository. The CLI reads .cursor/mcp.json from a cloned project and immediately launches its configured MCP server command without prompting or establishing trust. Execution requires a user to clone the attacker's GitHub repository and open it with the CLI, after which the command runs with the CLI process's privileges.
