Session hijacking via unrotated login identifier
Published Oct 29, 2025 · Updated Oct 29, 2025
Session fixation in CKAN before 2.10.9 and 2.11.0 through 2.11.3 allows remote attackers to hijack user sessions via a fixed cookie. The login view authenticates a user without directing the server-side session interface to regenerate the existing identifier, leaving the pre-login identifier valid after authentication. Exploitation requires nondefault server-side session storage plus either placing a chosen cookie in the victim's browser or obtaining the victim's valid session identifier, and it exposes only data available to that user's session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
