Unauthenticated code execution via FreeMarker class instantiation
Published Jan 20, 2026 · Updated Jan 20, 2026
Server-side template injection in opensagres XDocReport 1.0.0 through 2.1.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. FreemarkerTemplateEngine passes document template expressions to FreeMarker without restricting the ?new operator, allowing dangerous Java class instantiation. Exploitation requires a downstream application to process an attacker-controlled template, after which commands run with the host process privileges.
