Administrative access via unprotected CGI paths
Published Dec 3, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Authentication bypass in Fanvil X210 V2 firmware 2.12.20 allows remote attackers to access administrative functions over the local network. The embedded HTTP server applies authentication only to /html, so requests to /cgi-bin can invoke administrative CGI scripts without credentials. Local-network reachability is required; exposed functions include file upload, firmware update, and reboot, allowing configuration changes and service interruption.
