Arbitrary command execution via active template PHP
Published Nov 25, 2025 · Updated Nov 25, 2025
Code injection in REDAXO CMS 5.20.0 allows remote authenticated administrators to execute operating system commands through active templates. The template editor accepts and saves executable administrator-supplied PHP as template content, and the frontend evaluates it when a visitor loads a page using that template. Administrator access and template activation are required; successful exploitation executes commands with the web server account's permissions, enabling file disclosure or a remote shell.
