Local privilege escalation via raced symbolic links
Published Feb 23, 2026 · Updated Feb 23, 2026
Link-following privilege escalation in Tencent PC Manager 17.10.28554.205 and earlier allows local users to execute programs as SYSTEM. During drive scans, SYSTEM-level QQPCRtp.exe deletes a user-writable temporary scan directory without preventing junction and symbolic-link redirection. A local user must win an OpLock-assisted race to replace the directory, redirecting the privileged deletion to an arbitrary target and enabling elevated execution.
