File disclosure and SSRF via external entities
Published Nov 17, 2025 · Updated Nov 17, 2025
XML external entity injection in PDFPatcher 1.1.3.4663 and earlier allows remote attackers to read local files via crafted bookmark XML. PdfInfoXmlDocument parses user-supplied bookmark XML with XmlDocument while leaving XmlResolver enabled and DTD processing unrestricted. Exploitation requires a user to import the file; external entities can exfiltrate readable files, reach internal URLs, or exhaust parser resources.
