Command execution via unsanitized GIF file path
Published Nov 17, 2025 · Updated Nov 17, 2025
OS command injection in MyScreenTools 2.2.1.0 and earlier allows context-dependent attackers to execute commands through crafted GIF file paths. The GIF Compression form's CMD() function concatenates an untrusted path into a command sent to cmd.exe, and CheckSafePath() does not reject the ampersand separator. Exploitation requires the crafted file to be added and processed in the GUI; injected commands run with the application user's privileges.
