Service outage via unchecked ZIP decompression
Published Nov 24, 2025 · Updated Nov 24, 2025
Denial of service in Cinnamon kotaemon 0.11.0 allows remote authenticated users to exhaust server resources via a crafted ZIP upload. The _may_extract_zip function in libs/ktem/ktem/index/file/ui.py extracts archive members without size, count, ratio, or content limits. File-upload permission is required; successful exploitation can consume CPU, memory, and disk space until the service crashes or the host becomes unavailable.
