Database disclosure via public SQL backup
Published Nov 14, 2025 · Updated Nov 14, 2025
Information disclosure in SourceCodester Simple Online Book Store System allows remote attackers to retrieve the database via an HTTP request. The deployment leaves /obs/database/obs_db.sql beneath the web root, so the server returns the bundled SQL backup without checking authentication or authorization. No account or user interaction is required; a successful request exposes the full schema, stored data, and credential hashes but does not alter data or interrupt service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Published CVSS scores
No CVSS assessment is available in this record.
CVSS describes severity. EPSS estimates exploitation probability.
