Unauthenticated account takeover via unchecked identity validation
Published Oct 3, 2025 · Updated Oct 3, 2025
Authentication bypass in ThemeSpirit Spirit Framework 1.2.14 and earlier allows remote attackers to take over any WordPress account. The custom_actions() function authenticates a requested username without first validating that the requester owns that identity. Knowledge of a target username is sufficient; selecting an administrator account grants full site-administration privileges.
