Unauthorized account access via empty password assignment
Published Nov 18, 2025 · Updated Nov 18, 2025
Weak password validation in Open Source Point of Sale 3.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to set an account password to empty. The POST /home/save/1 handler accepts omitted or blank password and repeat_password fields, reports success, and stores the blank credential. An authenticated session is required to make the change; afterward, the same username and no password provide access to that account.
