Code execution via out-of-bounds DOE write
Published Jul 9, 2025 · Updated Jul 9, 2025
Out-of-bounds writing in Rockwell Automation Arena Simulation 16.20.08 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted DOE file. The DOE parser fails to validate user-supplied data before writing it, causing a write past the end of an allocated object. Exploitation requires a user to open the malicious file or visit attacker-controlled content; code runs in the current process, with administrator context producing the greatest impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
