Key disclosure via extractable firmware PEM files
Published Nov 25, 2025 · Updated Nov 25, 2025
Cleartext secret storage in Syrotech SY-GPON-1110-WDONT firmware 3.1.02-240517 allows local users to extract TLS keys and certificates. The firmware filesystem stores the SSL private key, CA certificate, server certificate, and client certificates as PEM files under /etc. Access to the firmware image is required; recovered private and client keys expose certificate-based identities and protected communications that rely on them.
