Admin password change via forged cross-site request

Published Nov 7, 2025 · Updated Nov 12, 2025

CSRF in SourceCodester Pet Grooming Management Software 1.0 allows remote attackers to change an administrator password through a forged POST request. The change_pass.php endpoint accepts a password-update POST with the victim's session cookie but without an anti-CSRF token, Origin or Referer validation, or current-password confirmation. An administrator must remain authenticated and visit attacker-controlled content; the password change then permits access with the attacker-chosen credential.
