Browser script execution via unsanitized username prefix
Published Nov 7, 2025 · Updated Nov 12, 2025
Cross-site scripting in SourceCodester Modern User Account Generator 1.0 allows remote attackers to run JavaScript through the Username Prefix field. The script.js account-generation path renders the prefix into generated-account DOM content without sanitization or output encoding. No authentication is required, but the attacker must generate accounts with crafted input and a user must click the injected element; script execution remains confined to that browser context.
