Local process crashes via unchecked output-buffer copy
Published Nov 14, 2025 · Updated Nov 14, 2025
Heap corruption in Advantech TP-3250 printer driver 0.3.9200.20789 allows local users to crash invoking processes via malformed DEVMODE data. The DrvDocumentPropertySheets path copies DEVMODE header and extra data into pdmOut without checking the output allocation, corrupting the heap. Exploitation requires local code execution and an installed affected driver; only a user-space process crash is demonstrated, and arbitrary code execution remains unverified.
