Unauthenticated code execution via exposed Python built-ins
Published Nov 18, 2025 · Updated Nov 18, 2025
Code injection in baryhuang mcp-server-aws-resources-python 0.1.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary Python code through crafted queries. AWSResourceQuerier.execute_query compiles attacker-controlled input in exec mode, exposes import, getattr, and hasattr, and passes the result to exec without a restrictive namespace. Network access to the MCP query tool requires no authentication or user interaction; demonstrated payloads read files and process environment variables, including AWS credential material.
