Browser script execution via unencoded search query
Published Nov 7, 2025 · Updated Nov 7, 2025
Reflected XSS in TechStore 1.0 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in a victim's browser through a crafted search URL. The /search_results handler reads q and interpolates it directly into an HTML f-string response without output encoding. Exploitation requires a victim to follow the crafted URL; the script runs in the TechStore origin and can access or modify browser-visible data.
