Administrator session compromise via reflected parameter-name injection
Published Nov 3, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
Reflected XSS in Open Source Social Network 8.6 allows remote authenticated users to run scripts in an administrator's browser. The u/administrator/friends endpoint inserts the name of an arbitrarily supplied URL parameter into its response without neutralizing script content. Exploitation requires a low-privileged remote user to induce an administrator to open the crafted URL, enabling actions with that administrator's session but no service interruption.
