Unauthorized model management via unauthenticated API endpoints
Published Dec 18, 2025 · Updated Dec 18, 2025
Authentication bypass in Ollama 0.12.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to manage models through exposed API endpoints without credentials. The exposed model-management endpoints accept requests without performing any authentication check. Network reachability alone is sufficient to enumerate installed models and invoke model-management operations; direct code execution is not established.
