Wireless service interruption via unprotected management frames
Published Dec 4, 2025 · Updated Dec 5, 2025
Missing management frame protection in Waveshare RS232/485 TO WIFI ETH (B) firmware 3.1.1.0 allows physically proximate attackers to disrupt Wi-Fi. The gateway accepts forged, unauthenticated IEEE 802.11 deauthentication and disassociation frames because it does not implement 802.11w protection. An attacker within wireless range can repeatedly inject the frames to keep clients disconnected and interrupt serial-to-IP communications.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
