Unauthenticated administrator creation via unchecked registration role
Published Nov 6, 2025 · Updated Nov 6, 2025
Privilege escalation in King Addons for Elementor 51.1.36 and earlier allows remote attackers to create WordPress administrator accounts. The handle_register_ajax() registration handler passes the client-controlled user_role value to wp_insert_user() without restricting it to safe roles. Exploitation requires site registration and the Login | Register Form widget to be enabled; a forged administrator account grants full site control.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
