Root command execution via unsigned firmware script
Published Nov 18, 2025 · Updated Nov 19, 2025
Remote code execution in Sound4 IMPACT firmware 2.33 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root via a crafted update. The firmware uploader accepts a repackaged archive whose recalculated MD5 list covers a modified manual.sh, then executes that script without authenticating the package. Administrative access to the web management interface is required, after which arbitrary shell commands run with full device privileges.
