Administrator password disclosure via unauthenticated setup endpoint
Published Nov 19, 2025 · Updated Nov 20, 2025
Information disclosure in bridgetech VB288 firmware 5.6.0-8 allows remote attackers to read administrator passwords via a setup endpoint. The setup password handler returns the stored administrator password in cleartext when it receives an unauthenticated HTTP GET request. Network reachability to the device web interface is sufficient, and disclosure is limited to reading credentials; no direct data modification or service interruption is reported.
