Router service interruption via unchecked stack copy
Published Nov 10, 2025 · Updated Nov 10, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AX3 firmware 16.03.12.10_CN allows remote attackers to crash the router via a crafted request. The wlSetExternParameter function passes wpapsk_crypto through v18 to strcpy, which copies unchecked input into the 16-byte wpapsk_cryptovalue stack buffer. The request must pass the wpapsk check; the overflow crashes the router and persistently interrupts network service, with no reported confidentiality or integrity impact.
