Subscriber-level settings changes via unauthorized AJAX handler
Published Dec 9, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Missing authorization in Page View Count 2.9.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to change plugin settings via admin AJAX. The admin AJAX settings handler processes requests without enforcing the manage_options capability that protects administrative configuration. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and the resulting writes alter plugin configuration and can disrupt its displayed behavior.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
