Disk exhaustion via restrictive extracted directory permissions

Resource exhaustion in Debian dpkg allows local users to fill disk space through repeated extraction of crafted packages with dpkg-deb. dpkg-deb preserves restrictive directory permissions from a control member in its temporary extraction tree, preventing cleanup from removing nested files. Reaching disk-quota exhaustion or a full disk requires automated repeated processing of adversarial or highly compressible packages from a directory that a non-root user cannot remove.
