Stored script execution via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Oct 27, 2025 · Updated Oct 27, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in RomanCode MapSVG 8.7.22 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via shortcode attributes. The plugin stores contributor-controlled shortcode attributes without sufficient input sanitization or output escaping, causing attacker-supplied script to run during later page views. Contributor-level access and a subsequent page visit are required, exposing the visitor's browser context to arbitrary script execution.
