CVE-2025-62877Network attack vector

Administrative SSH access via pre-reset default password

Published Jan 8, 2026 · Updated Jan 8, 2026

Default credentials in SUSE Harvester 1.5.0 through 1.5.2 and 1.6.0 through 1.6.1 allow remote attackers administrative access via SSH. The interactive installer enables host networking before replacing the operating system's default administrative password, leaving SSH reachable with that credential during cluster creation or host enrollment. Exposure requires the interactive installer; PXE installation with a Harvester configuration file is not affected, and successful login grants a remote shell on the host.
