VPN authentication bypass via unneutralized role type
Published Mar 20, 2026 · Updated Mar 20, 2026
Authentication bypass in QNAP QuRouter 2.6.x before 2.6.3.009 allows remote authenticated users to bypass QBelt VPN authentication. The qvpn_db_mgr endpoint insufficiently neutralizes special characters in the role_type parameter before authentication handling. ZDI reports remote authenticated exploitation, while QNAP states that a local attacker must hold an administrator account; the result is unauthorized VPN access.
