Arbitrary file read via unchecked folder path
Published Jun 19, 2025 · Updated Jun 23, 2025
Path traversal in Xata Agent 0.3.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server files through the evals API. The GET handler passes the folder query value directly to fs.readdir and joins it into fs.readFile paths without restricting access to an evaluation root. Exploitation requires the non-default EVAL setting, and successful requests disclose readable files without altering them.
