Memory corruption via inconsistent SMS length fields
Published Apr 7, 2026 · Updated Apr 7, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in SMS processing on affected Samsung Exynos processors and modems allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via a crafted SMS. The SMS parser uses mismatched TP-UDHI and UDL length values and writes beyond the intended buffer while processing the TP-UD payload. No authentication or user interaction is required; Samsung has not disclosed the exact post-corruption consequence or affected firmware versions.
