CVE-2025-62793Network attack vector

Session theft via inline-rendered malicious SVG uploads

Published Oct 27, 2025 · Updated Oct 27, 2025

Stored XSS in eLabFTW before 5.3.0 allows remote authenticated users to steal victim sessions through a crafted uploaded SVG. DownloadController treated image/svg+xml as a safe MIME type, returning untrusted SVG files for inline browser rendering instead of forcing download. Exploitation requires a valid account to upload the file and a victim to open its URL or an embedding page; script runs under the application origin and can read data or act with the victim's privileges.
