CVE-2025-62792Network attack vector

Sensitive memory read via unterminated message buffer

Published Oct 29, 2025 · Updated Oct 29, 2025

Heap buffer over-read in Wazuh before 4.12.0 allows remote attackers controlling an agent to read beyond the manager's allocated memory. OS_CleanMSG() advances lf->log to the final allocated byte without placing a null terminator there, so w_expression_match() calls strlen() across the heap boundary. The read continues through adjacent heap bytes until a null byte; exploitation requires open agent enrollment or control of an existing agent.
