CVE-2025-62788Network attack vector

Manager crash via stale timestamp pointer dereference

Published Oct 29, 2025 · Updated Oct 29, 2025

Use after free in Wazuh Manager before 4.11.0 allows remote attackers controlling an agent to crash the analysis daemon with a crafted message. The w_copy_event_for_log() function duplicates lf->dec_timestamp after fim_alert() frees lf->full_log, even though the timestamp still points inside that allocation. Reachability requires an enrolled compromised agent or open agent enrollment; dereferencing the stale pointer causes a demonstrated process crash and can corrupt reused heap data.
