Session hijacking via timestamp-derived cookies
Published Oct 22, 2025 · Updated Oct 22, 2025
Authentication weakness in Mercku M6a 2.1.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to hijack administrator sessions over the local network. Session cookies are formed as s followed by a Unix timestamp, and the management endpoint accepts guessed values without rate limiting. The attack requires local-network access and an active administrator session; the demonstrated result is access to authenticated management data.
