Hidden functionality in Mercku M6a 2.1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to enable TELNET via an administrator API request. The undocumented router.telnet.enabled.update method accepts enabled=true from an administrative session and starts a persistent TELNET service. Administrative access to the router's local management interface is required; the direct effect is unauthorized activation of a remote administration service.
