Stored XSS via unescaped collection tags
Published Nov 4, 2025 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Stored XSS in ClipBucket V5 5.5.2-#156 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary JavaScript via collection tags. Collection detail and tag-list templates embed stored tag values into page output without context-appropriate escaping, so HTML event handlers become executable markup. A normal authenticated account can plant the payload, and execution occurs for any user who later views an affected collection or tag-list page, including administrators.
